Business and Administration (Levels 2 and 3)

These NVQs are work-based qualifications designed for administrative staff working in all sectors of industry and commerce. Units range from dealing with visitors to monitoring information systems.


Customer Service (Levels 2 and 3)

These qualifications are for those who want to offer improved levels of service to their customers. Level 2 encourages development of individual skills in problem solving, developing good customer service and supporting new improvements in customer service. Level 3 encourages the development and implementation of new initiatives and team leadership.


Health and Social Care (Levels 2, 3 and 4)

These qualifications are designed for people who work with individuals to support and assist them with their physical or emotional care, daily living needs or maintaining the their independence.

The level 2 qualification is aimed at home care assistants, community support assistants, healthcare assistants and residential or day service assistants.

The level 3 qualification is aimed at individuals who often work without direct supervision or on their own, perhaps in a user's own home. The level 4 qualification is aimed at people in supervisory or management roles. 

Levels 3 and 4 include a pathway for adults which is appropriate for senior care workers, healthcare workers, home care organizers and community support workers.

Support Services in Health Care (Level 2)

This award is aimed at staff in critical support services, roles including: porters; security staff; housekeepers; laundry workers; caterers; cleaners; health records; transportation. If you work in one of these roles you play a critical part in ensuring that patients, users and carers experience a quality service. This award is supported by the health departments in all four countries in the UK.

Registered Manager (Adults) (Level 4)

This award is a management qualification at level 4 which includes the broad range of management skills but is clearly based in the context of care services for adults. It is specifically designed for managers now regulated through the National Care Standards Commission in England and the Care Standards Inspectorate in Wales. It is aimed at individuals who are responsible for the day to day running of single care homes and facilities for vulnerable adults. This includes nursing homes and facilities for older people, adults with physical or learning difficulties and adults with mental illness. The award reflects the varied size, nature and organizational setting of adult care services and the diverse roles of the manager.

Providing Security Services (Level 2)

This NVQ covers all the areas which are common to all security officers, while being flexible enough to cover areas specific to each individual's job role.


Security Management (Supervisor) (Level 3)

This NVQ covers areas such as integrity, gathering of information from witnesses, gathering information from suspects, health and safety, using CCTV and securing physical evidence.


Management (Level 4)

This NVQ in Management is aimed at middle managers with a wider span of control, greater accountability for performance and responsibility for determining resource allocation and operational methods. It gives you an opportunity to develop your performance in your job, to become more effective and to progress your career. There are five mandatory units and you can choose from a range of optional units which allow you to tailor the programme to your and your employers needs.


Assessor and Verifier Awards (Level 3/4)

This suite of awards has been developed especially for those in a range of assessing roles. You will learn how to assess candidates using a range of methods, through observation and to conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process. To enter, you must hold a qualification in the area you intend to assess.
