Gas Installation and Maintenance

The Gas Apprenticeship is currently only available at Level 2 but successful completion of this award does allow candidates to apply for their CORGI registration card. This award currently takes between 18 - 22 months to complete.

Due to the variety of scope within this qualification there is a requirement for the candidate to carry out a number of assessments and written reports covering various aspects of Gas Installation. These include: cookers, warm air heaters, boilers, water heaters, space heaters and central heating appliances. It is essential therefore that each employer can offer the candidate access to each and every scenario within their day to day activities as achievement of each aspect is a mandatory requirement. This will be discussed with each individual company prior to a candidate commencing on the programme.

Warehousing and Distribution

The Warehousing and Distribution Apprenticeship is currently only delivered at Level 2 and takes between 12 - 18 months to complete. As with all apprenticeships this is a 'work based' qualification and therefore aims to prove the competence of each candidate in their day to day job activities within a warehouse/distribution environment.

Due to the wide variety within this vocation, some of the award (optional units for the NVQ) can be selected on the basis of what tasks each candidate carries out within their day to day duties. These are often pre-determined by the nature of the work the employer is involved in and therefore these options will be discussed with both the organisation and the candidate prior to commencement of the programme to ensure full achievement is possible.
